Messages and Notices

Students, Faculty, and Consultants/Users can all have unique (HTML Supported) messages on their home screen, as well as center notices that appear in the top-right corner of their main menu. Here's how to edit them.

Main Menu Message

To edit the Student main menu message, go to Trac Navigation > Trac Man icon > Utilities and Prefs > System Prefs > StudentAccess > Message for Full Access Students.

To edit the Faculty main menu message, go to Trac Navigation > Trac Man icon > Utilities and Prefs > System Prefs > FacultyAccess.

To edit the Consultant/User main menu message, simply click on the pencil icon on your home screen. This will open a WYSIWYG editor.

Center Notices allow you to display messages for your Trac System users. Center notices can be utilized in a wide variety of ways, maybe you need to inform users of an upcoming event, post a reminder of a task that needs attention, or let your students know that campus hours are changing next month.

These messages will display in a grey box on their home screen, the name of the box is based on the name of your Profile. Notices can be individually configured for Staff, Consultants, Faculty, Students, and Kiosks.

Notices can be created by going to Trac Navigation > Search Glass > Center Profiles > [Your Profile] > Prefs > Notices. You’ll see each user type has their own notice field; you can begin editing any of these by clicking on the blue “…” icon. Once you’ve written your notices, click save to apply the changes.

A user will see a profile notice if they have access to that profile’s schedule. Go to Trac Nav. > Search Glass > Center Profiles > [Your Profile] > Group Access. The checkboxes in the “Schedule” column will also determine notice visibility. Check the box for every group that needs to view the notice.

Search Availability Message

To customize the message displayed on the "Search for Availability" page, go to Trac Navigation > Trac Man > Utilities and Prefs > Advanced Prefs > Search for and click on "HTML:searchAvailGenInstr", create it if it doesn't exist.

Once open, you'll have a text box available. Type in the message you want to display, this box also supports HTML.

Once you've typed in your message, click save, then head over to Trac Navigation > Search Glass > Appointments to see how it looks.
