==Staff Tasks==
==Send Emails to Students==

Tasks are a great way to let your students and staff know about items to complete directly from the TracCloud Dashboard. Whether you are already familiar with creating tasks for students to complete or are new to creating tasks, creating them for staff will be just as easy!
The <i>Send Email to Students</i> option from your student listing can help you send a large number of students the same email all at once instead of sending them out one at a time. One way we can filter down results is by using the "Select" tool, to pick and choose which students we want to view for the purpose of sending a batch email.

To start, you will need to create a new task type to be assigned to your Staff by going to <i>Other > Other Options > Preferences > Task Types</i>. Here you can create a new Task Type that can be assigned to your staff by clicking on the <b>+</b> button and entering in the name for the new Task Type.
For example, I could start with a search for all students with a class of "Freshman."

From here, you will need to give your own permission group access to view that task type as an additional option by going to <i>Other > Other Options > Groups > [Your Group] > Center Access</i>, where you can select which Task Types you want to have access to.
Next up, I'll scroll through the list and pick and choose which of those remaining students I want to send this email to with the checkbox on the right-side of the page. Afterwards, I'll click on the <i>Hamburger menu {{#fas:bars}} > Selected > Show All Selected.</i>

Now that we have the task type set up, you can go to your Staff listing (<i>Other > Listings > Staff</i>), select your staff member, then go to the Actions menu and select the Task you want to assign to them.
This will update your current list of students to only those that you have selected. At this point you can send an email by going to the <i>Hamburger menu {{#fas:bars}} > Send Email to Students</i> and write up your message.

You will then have the opportunity to enter some additional information, such as the name of the task and any additional notes about it (You do not need to add a student since this is going to only the staff member).

Once you have created a task for that staff member, it will appear in their notifications for them to complete themselves, and after it has been completed it will also display in their staff timeline.

And that’s it! You can now create tasks for your staff members for whatever reasons you need. For more information on configuring Tasks on TracCloud, [[TracCloudGuideGlobalTasks|click here.]]

If you plan on sending another email to a different population of students afterwards, make sure you deselect your current list. Go to <i>Hamburger menu {{#fas:bars}} > Selected > Clear Selection.</i><br><br>
